DOOMSDAY To Release 'Lay Down And Burn' Digital EP

February 26, 2009

Italian metal/hardcore band DOOMSDAY will release its new digital EP, "Lay Down And Burn", on March 31 through Eulogy Recordings. "Lay Down And Burn" was recorded and produced in Rome at the Hombre Lobo studio by DOOMSDAY and Valerio Fisik. The vocals were recorded, edited, produced and mixed by Daniele Autore (singer and guitar player of the Italian band VANILLA SKY) and Megha. The mixing was done at at the Hombre Lobo studio in Rome and mastering was handled by UE Nastasi (STILL REMAINS, WALLS OF JERICHO) at Sterling Sound in New York City.

"We worked really hard to have this EP to sound refreshing and not so stereotypical like the majority of metalcore records nowadays," says guitarist Andrea Campanelli. "This is the most mature and best release so far for us. From the keyboard sounds, guitar riffs, vocals and drumming we moved a big step forward compared to our previous material and we're totally satisfied with the final result. In my opinion this is one of the most competitive records in the genre today!".

"Lay Down And Burn" track listing:

01. What We Fight For
02. Feed The Fire
03. Premonitions
04. Blackout
05. The Speechless

The track "What We Fight For" is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.

According to the band's official bio, DOOMSDAY "mixes elements of hardcore with strong influences of (Swedish) metal, combines heavy mosh parts with catchy guitar work and melodic vocals."

The band's full-length debut, "No Angel Wings", was released in September 2006.
